MY APPROACH

Therapy is not one-size fits all

I respect the courage it takes to begin therapy. Discussing personal feelings, thoughts, and experiences can be challenging, which is why I prioritize creating a safe and trusting environment. I am committed to fostering an authentic therapeutic relationship, allowing it to develop naturally over time. By listening attentively and attuning to each individual’s needs, I ensure that sessions proceed at a pace that feels comfortable for the client. This approach often helps clients feel more at ease, enabling them to open up and share the emotional burdens they carry. My counseling foundation is built on trust, compassion, respect, and a non-judgmental attitude.

As I build a therapeutic relationship with each client, I tailor my counseling approach to meet their unique needs. My practice incorporates techniques from various evidence-based treatment modalities, including person-centered therapy, existential therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy. Recognizing how past events and experiences influence the nervous system and current life circumstances, I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens.

The therapeutic process is a collaborative effort aimed at understanding and addressing life’s challenges. In therapy, we can explore emotions with curiosity and compassion, identifying unhelpful behaviors or thought patterns that may be impeding growth. This process allows us to pinpoint areas where change can occur to achieve meaningful outcomes. By actively listening, asking thoughtful questions, and offering insights, I help clients uncover new perspectives, recognize their strengths, and develop effective strategies. Through this approach, clients are able to build resilience, and implement lasting, positive change in their lives.
